1983
Founder Jinshan Chen started up a hardware part business at home in Lingshan Village in Jinjiang City, Fujian, with less
than 10 people in a space of only 100©O.

1986
Purchased the first specialized gear production machine with RMB10000 and succeeded in trying out the first K90 motorcycle gear. The decision on motorcycle gears was made at a family meeting. This marked the onset of Sanli¡¯s specialization in gears.

1987
Became the largest motorcycle manufacturer in China, and the first qualified scooter supplier in China.

1992
Established Qingyang Chengda Machinery Part Factory in Jinjiang City, Fujian, to supply motorcycle and auto hardware accessories. Succeeded in developing the TB50 high-speed engine gear for use on the new type of motorcycle engine after overcoming technical difficulties. Purchased new production equipment and recruited a large quantity of professionals in the same year.

1993
Became one of the specialist motorcycle gear manufacturers in China. Appointed by the China Qingqi Group Co., Ltd. to provide support service for the technological cooperation project with Suzuki Ltd of Japan. Succeeded in developing the GS125 primary active engine gear for Suzuki, which was a pioneer work in China. Succeeded in developing the leading-edge CY6 engine gear, became China¡¯s first joint venture motorcycle enterprise, Sundario Co,  Ltd, to support Honda Ltd to manufacture motorcycles in China, and was rated by Honda Ltd as an¡°Excellent Supplier¡±.

1994
Became one of the few high-precision gear manufacturers in China, with customers including the leading motorcycle manufacturers in China, such as China Qingqi, Sundario (Honda) Jincheng and Jianshe.

1997
Established the first scooter store in Quanzhou in October and later on began distributing products of other leading
brands. Placed huge investments to purchase equipment in the end of year. Expanded the space of Chengda Machine Accessory Plant  to 30,000m2, with employees increased to 200 people. Transformed from primary processing to indepth processing to complete BPR from simple processing to gear shape processing, heat treating to surface treatment.

1999
Began planning the establishment of Sanli Group from production base construction in the beginning of the year. Added motorcycle sales to the scope of businesses on November 11. Began the trail run of the first Sanli motorcycle TS1235-4. Mass production began as all requirements were met. Drew up the plan for entering the auto gear business after capturing the trends of auto industry development in China. Began full-scale study of auto gear manufacturingprocess to make gradual technical improvement and recruited professionals.

2000
Jinjiang Sanli Motorcycle Co., Ltd. was officially approved for establishment on February 24, marking a big step foreword for corporate development. Later one, the mass production of the first Sanli engine SL157FM began, becoming another manufacturer in China able to independently manufacture that type of engine after the Jiangmen Brand of Dachangjiang Group and Qingqi Brand of Suzuki. Chengda Machine Accessory Plant was officially renamed as Jingjiang Chengda Gear Co., Ltd. in September specialized in the manufacture of auto and engineer machinery transmission gears and high-precision motorcycle gears. Internationalization began after Sanli President Gengsheng Wang joined the group from China Qingqui.

2001
Chengda Gears purchased China¡¯s first Germany-made cutter-grinder (SRS405CNC) from the world-leading gear processing equipment supplier Gleason-Hurth in September. Completed the process adjustment of auto gear manufacture and accepted the first auto gear trial production assignment.

2002
Sanli Motorcycle Co., Ltd. was officially listed as a specialist motorcycle manufacturer in the national procurement catalogue on January 31. Passed the ISO9001:2000 QMS accreditation in March. Chengda Gears entered the domestic auto gear industry in August.  Became the gear supplier for the heavy and light truck transmission box of JAC Motors and Weichai Power after successfully developing the auto gear package for the N50 Series of Jiangling Group. Began independent brand marketing in the end of year. Initiated the first branding plan in West Africa according to the global branding project based on the international market cultivation strategy, marking the onset of Sanli motorcycle distribution.

2003
Initiated the new production base construction project in Jinjiang Economic Development Zone with an investment exceeding RMB100mn. Chengda Gears passed the accreditation of both QS-9000 and IAO9001 in March.

2004
Succeeded in developing the first universal gasoline engine 1P40 in February, and it was used on Sanli lawn mowers. The new production base construction project in Jinjiang Economic Development Zone was completed in May, and the group relocation began.  Invested in the first motorcycle integrated functionality testing laboratory in Fujian. The lab passed the acceptance inspection of the relevant departments.

2005
Sanli Motorcycle Co., Ltd passed all six items in the motorcycle manufacture approval inspection on January 19, and won the titles ¡°Provincial Technical Center¡± and ¡°New High-tech Enterprise in Fujian¡±. The first to introduce the world¡¯s latest professional heat treating pipeline into China in July (*brand and model number data). Successfullydistributed lawn mowers carrying SANLI brand to Australia to become the first Chinese brand in Australia. Awarded the first patent (ZL20052007412), with 14 more from China and worldwide in the following years. Sanli was listed as one of the largest lawn mower manufacturers in China. Visited by NDRC Chairperson Kai MA expressing his acclaim for Sanli¡¯s effort in independent brand development.

2006
Passed the accreditation of TS16949 QMS for auto manufacture from Germany, the hardest among all international standards for QMS.
This marked Sanli¡¯s entry into the hall of professional auto gear manufacture. Gradually became the gear supplier of various domestic automakers, such as Shanghai Volkswagen, JAC Motors, Faxite, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor, Nanjing Iveco Automobile, Dongfeng Motor, and Jiangling Motors. Sanli brand was awarded the Fujian Famous Trademark title in June. Visited by CPPCC Chairman Qinglin Jia in the accompaniment of Fujian Provincial Party Committee Secretary Zhangong Lu, which was listed as a priority enterprise of Fujian. In September, Sanli brand was awarded the Fujian Famous Brand Product title, Sanli passed the accreditation of ISO14000 EMS, and was rated as one of the Top 100 Private Enterprises in Fujian. In the same month, Chengda Gears became a member of the China Gear Manufacturers¡¯Association. In the same year, Sanli¡¯s large commercial rideon mower was nominated for the National Torch Project. In December, the small quantity trail production of the large commercial ride-on mower began after the R&D success. At the same time, 5 injection molding machines and 2 press machines were added to the production line. In the following year, the mower production capacity increased to 260,000 pieces.


2007
Became one of the specialist motorcycle gear manufacturers in China. Began the R&D of high-speed combination gears. Appointed by the China Qingqi Group to provide support service for the technological cooperation project with Suzuki Ltd of Japan. Succeeded in developing the GS125 primary active engine gear for Suzuki, which was a pioneer work in China. Succeeded in developing the leading-edge CY6 engine gear, became China¡¯s first joint venture motorcycle enterprise, Sundario Co, Ltd, to support Honda Ltd to manufacture motorcycles in China, and was rated by Honda Ltd as an ¡°Excellent Supplier¡±.

2008
The year of capacity expansion began. From 2006 to 2008, Chengda Gears purchased 168 digital-control highefficient machine tools, including hobbing machines, round-face grinders, high-speed gear shapers, universal shaving machines and gear chamfering machines. Capacity increased from less than 2 million pieces in 2005 to more than 3.8 million pieces in 2008. Visited by the 11th Panchen Lama Gyaincain Norbu, and performed the top blessing ceremony for the Chairperson Jinshan Chen. Included on May 8 as a member of the Garden Machinery Technology Standardization Committee by the Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China to draft the national standard for Ride-on Mower Safety Requirements and Testing Methods and the industrial standard for Ride-on Mowers, thus becoming the drafting unit of the Ride-on Mower Safety Regulations. Completed the said draftingwork on June 6 and began the draft presentation. Imported one multifunctional MAZAK CNC from Japan in August to ensure the production quality of high-power engines and facilitate the R&D and production of diesel engines. The SL46Z-C autonomous height-adjustable lawn mower was included in National Priority New Product Plan in December. Succeeded in developing the 2V80 dualcylinder diesel engine and small quantity production began. These two technologies shortened the lawn mower technology divide between China and the world. Innovative products were invented continuously to meet the needs of worldwide customers. President Gengsheng Wang was rated as the Outstanding Industrialist of Fujian 2008. Passed the National High-tech Enterprise Certification

2009
Began planning the engine and auto gear production base construction project occupying an area of 200 ha. China Power Group (Changed company name to China S&C Engine Group Limited in 2012) successfully was successful listed on the Korean stock arket in December. The engine and auto gear production base construction project was officially initiated on December 17. The leader of Fujian Provincial Government and Jinjiang City Government and domestic and international guests attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Revenues reached RMB800mn.

2010
Purchased secondary color injection molding machines for manufacturing mower handles in March. Think globally and embrace the world. Develop new energy for energy saving and environmental protection.

2011
Yantai Chengda Gear Co., Ltd is set up in July to be close supplier for PATAC GM. Signed Outline Purchase Contract with AL-KO Geraete GmbH for a cooperation of 20-30 lawnmowers on 13th of December.

2012
Agreed with TCK Garden SAS to have joint venture in France in October, JV company name is TS GARDEN DISTRIBUTION SAS. After the hard working of one year, the AL-KO project finally can start mass production in December.
