Fujian Jinjiang Sanli Engine Co. Ltd established in 1999 and has since evolved into a large company group consisting of Chengda Gear Co Ltd who had established in 1983 and companies specialized in precision die casting, machinery, coating, sales as well as a motorcycles and gardens research and development centre. The company is currently supported by a team of more than 80 specialists including postdoctoral researchers in motorcycle R&D, experts from overseas gardening industry, senior engineers (State Council Allowance Scheme recipients) and engineers as well as 25 senior technicians. In 2002, the company established a National Standard compliant Technical Research and Development Centre, equipping it with such advanced equipments as laser plotter, high precision three-coordinate measuring machine, CNC processing centre, workstations and supporting network system, engine test bench and vehicle comprehensive performance test bench. The company is also in partnership with Zhejiang University developed GS125 Electronic Fuel Injection System and CG125 Continuously Variable Transmission System. Based on these two achievements, the company then successfully developed REBEL150 2-Cylinder Engine – an independently developed product that has won high recognitions from the industry.

    The company received its ISO9001 (2000) Quality Management System certification in 2002. Guided by the system and its quality assurance mechanism, the company in 2003 successfully passed the CCC certification. In 2004, the company successfully passed the examination and was accredited by the National Development and Reforms Commission as an enterprise meeting the criteria concerning access requirements for an automotive manufacturer and its R&D capability. The company by fulfilling all six categories of access requirements became a gazetted motorcycle manufacturer. The company received its ISO4000 Environmental Management System certification as well as the Metrology System certification in 2007.

    The site of the company sprawls over an area of 250,000 square meters. Stage One covers an area of over 90,000 square meters with more than 110,000 square meters of floor space allocated for production usage. The company owns a range of production facilities and advanced inspection and testing equipment for use in die-casting, stamping, machining, injection molding, coating, gear machining and heat treatment. Currently the company has 10 assembly lines suitable for producing a wide range of products. It also has 5 coating lines and associated welding, machining, injection molding and other equipment totaling 386 units.

    The company was awarded the title of Provincial Enterprise Technology Centre in 2005 and is in the process to be accredited as a National Technology Centre. In recent years the company has won dozens of honours from the government at various levels including the titles of National Hi-Tech Enterprise, Fujian Provincial 100 Key Industrial Enterprises, Fujian Provincial 50 Key Mechanical and Electrical Manufacturers, Fujian Provincial Famous Brand, Fujian Provincial Famous Product, Fujian Provincial Famous Export Brand, Quanzhou City 100 Key Industrial Enterprises and Fujian Provincial Reliable and Trusted Enterprise.

    In 2008, the company under the auspices of the Standardization Administration of China chaired the drafting of the first National Standard on lawnmowers and was later appointed a member enterprise of both the General Gasoline Engine Technical Standardization Sub-committee of the National Internal Combustion Engine Standardization Technical Committee and the National Forestry Machinery Technical Standardization Committee. As a committee member of the National Garden and Landscape Machinery Technical Standardization Preparatory Committee, the company successfully had Jinjiang City chosen as the seat of the committee secretariat. The company is currently entrusted with three tasks in formulating the National Standards on Garden and Landscape Machinery. It is also a participant in the drafting of two sets of National Standards. The company continues to introduce new products and has been for many years undertaking research and development tasks for the National Key New Products Program, the National Torch Project and the Provincial Key New Products Program.

    At present, the company’s annual production capacity of its range of motorcycles stands at 400,000 units. Combined annual output of motors, petrol and diesel engines and other types of power equipment has reached one million units. The company is also capable of annually producing 400,000 units of large medium and small garden and landscape machineries. Exporting to countries across Western Europe and North America, the company is ranked the industry’s top 10 exporters for foreign currency earnings. It is among the industry’s top 5 exporters of general machinery with its export volume of lawnmowers ranking first nationally and dozens of subsidiaries and offices in Europe, Australia and Africa.
